ACE Provost tasks corporate bodies on social responsibility

The Provost of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, has stressed the need for corporate organisations to always remember to fulfil their social responsibility in the environment they operate, in order to add values to the society.

Prof. Ogen made the statement on Friday October 16, 2015, while receiving 10 HP 15 brand Laptop computer sets donated to the institution by the Management of Ecobank Nigeria Plc.

Emphasising the importance of mutual benefits between organisations and their business partners, the College helmsman noted that such relationship is very necessary in the 21st century for growth and advancement of the nation.

He expressed happiness for the donation which he said is part of the 100 computers pledged to the institution by the bank management for the use of the college academic board   members.

Prof. Ogen also thanked Management of Ecobank for their support to the growth and development of the College. He dropped hint of plan by the management of the bank to partner with the college in areas which include construction of student hostels and staff quarters.

The College administrator also stated that the installation of Automation Teller Machines (ATM) and planned resuscitation of its branch in the institution were geared towards enhancing the good relationship existing between it and the college.

Also in his remark, the Registrar, Mr. Felix Aderinboye, thanked Management of Ecobank for the donation and pledged the readiness of the College Management to partner with them in the task of achieving their organisation’s goal.

Aderinboye, however, used the occasion to solicit support from other corporate organisations by calling on them to emulate the bank, stating that the move would enable them contribute their quota to the development of the institution.

Responding, a representative of the bank, Mrs. Ada Tony-Ilebor, who did the donation on its behalf, stated that the step was taken as part of demonstration of the bank’s commitment to the growth of the College.

Ada, who is the Cluster Business Head Public Sector of the bank in Ondo State, lauded the institution for partnering with it and assured that her organisation would continue to identify with the institution in its developmental efforts.

The highpoint of the event which held at the College Council Chamber, was the presentation of the computers sets to the Provost, Prof. Olukoya Ogenby Mrs. Ada Tony-Ilebor.

It was witnessed by the Bank Relationship Officer, Mr. Ewuola Olafusi; Head, Information & Public Relations Unit in the College, Mr. Moses Akinfolarin and otherstaff from the same unit.
