Rotary Club Adeyemi College commissions project

The Rotary Club of Ondo, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 commissioned a giant billboard in front of the College.

Commissioning the billboard which has the logos of Rotary International and the Adeyemi College Rotary Chapter, District Governor, Rotary 9125 Dr. Mike Omotosho commended the Club President, Dr. Mrs. O.O. Brownson and its members for erecting the billboard with the beautiful logo which not only indicated the presence of Rotary International in the College but also educate and create awareness about the rotary ideals.

The billboard has the four wheel test of the Rotary which form the basis of the things done by Rotarians all over the world namely: “Is it the truth?, Is fair to all concern?, Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

Shortly after the commissioning, the District Governor, accompanied by the District Secretary, Mr. Chidi Onuogu, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Ayo Oyedokun and a prominent octogenarian from Ondo Kingdom, Pa. Yele Robert moved to the COEASU Building to hold a joint briefing with Rotary Club of Ondo and Rotary Club Ondo, Adeyemi College, Ondo.

After the meeting, the District Governor, Dr. Omotosho paid a courtesy visit to the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba, Victor Kiladejo in his palace.

After a warm welcome and the request for the Rotary Grace by His Royal Majesty to begin the meeting, Rotarian Yele Robert introduced the Rotary team to the Monarch and his mission in the Kingdom.

Dr. Omotosho explained to the monarch that as part of his activities in the Rotary year 2015/2016 has to visit all the Clubs under District 9125

In his speech, the District Governor describe the members of the Rotary globally as ordinary men and women who contribute their time, money and other resourcesto make life easier for humanity.

He added further that they are business leaders, artisans, civil servants and all categories of professionals joined by the zeal to find solution to humanitarian problems.

He noted that most of the Nigerian problems which is attitudinal could be changed when Rotary Principle of four wheel test is applied in all areas of human activities. He however stressed the need for change at the individual level using the four wheel test as a valid solution.

Besides presenting a wine to the monarch, the DG also presented a customized four wheel test, the Rotary Bannerette which has this year theme of “Be a gift to the world” to the monarch.

Oba Kiladejo thanked the team for finding time to visit his palace and commended the activities of the Rotary in area of health and other humanitarian activities. He prayed for successful tenure of the DG and for his future endeavours.
