Provost tasks workers on commitment, service delivery

The Provost of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen  has advised staff of the institution, to redouble their effort in the discharge of their duties in year 2017.

Prof. Ogen also stressed the need for them to remain faithful, steadfast and show greater commitment towards the development of the institution.

Speaking at the New Year prayer meeting held by Christians and Muslims at two different locations, Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium and College Central Mosque respectively, the Provost stressed the importance of prayer, and urged members of the two religious bodies, to live harmoniously with each other by sustaining the peace and harmony currently prevailing in the College.

While giving assurance of better days in year 2017, Prof. Ogen urged staff of the College to think positively in the New Year in spite of the current economic challenges facing the nation, stating that rather than joining those expressing fear that the country may likely go from recession into depression, they should hope for quick economic recovery and prosperity.

He reiterated his determination to continue to work for the progress of the institution and appealed to staff and students not to relent in partnering with him in his resolve at achieving the mission and vision of the College.

Delivering a sermon at the Christian service, a Cleric, Pastor Sola Gbayisemore, stressed the need for staff and students to offer thanksgiving for all the achievements recorded in the institution in the year 2016.

While urging the congregation not to relent in offering prayers for the College, Gbayisemore disclosed the prophesy, which he said God revealed to him about the institution, and stated that the College would experience miracles that would transform and elevate it above its contemporaries in year 2017.

The religious leader enjoined staff and students to seek constantly the face of God in the New Year, stating  that the step would enable prophesy of God to come to fulfillment and miracle become manifested in their lives.

Pastor Gbayisemore corroborating his sermon with several passages from the Holy bible which include Isaiah Chapter 2 v 1-3; Ezekiel 9 v 6; 2nd Peter 1 v 3-4 and Psalm 25 v 1-8 among others to buttress his points and harped on the need for them to embrace spirituality by showing love and demonstrating strong faith in God.

Also in his sermon delivered at the College Central Mosque, the Chief Imam of Ondo City, Alhaji Bashir Alimi, lauded members of the College Management under the leadership of Prof. Olukoya Ogen, for various achievements recorded in the institution in year 2016.

The Cleric also expressed happiness over religious harmony existing among Christians and Muslim faithful in the institution and prayed that the Almighty Allah would continue to direct the leadership of the institution in their effort at advancing the growth and development of the College.

The two religious events which featured offering of prayers for the College Management, Teaching and Non-teaching staff, students and the country was attended by Principal Officers of the institution including the Deputy Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde; Registrar, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye; Bursar, Mr. Ganiyu Abdul; Members of the College Pastoral team and Islamic clerics from within and outside the college.

Also in attendance were Deans and Directors; Heads of Departments and Units including the Head, Information and Public Relations Unit, Mr. Moses Akinfolarin, Staff and Students among others.
