Provost appointed Honorary Mayor of the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States

The Provost, Prof. Olukoya Ogen who is presently on a working visit to the United States delivered the Keynote address at the 2017 International Conference on Accounting Information Technology, at Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on the 22nd of Nov 2017. He was later conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award for ICT Adoption in Higher Education by the ICITD, Southern University, Baton Rouge.


But most significantly, the Mayor of the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Her Excellency Sharon Weston Broome has also appointed Prof Ogen as a Honourary Mayor-President of Baton Rouge with all rights and privileges clearly stated in the instrument of authority as signed by Her Excellency.

Meanwhile, on the 24th of November, 2017, he will be signing an MoU between Southern University, ICT University and Adeyemi College of Education that will lead to the donation of an e-learning centre to ACE, and staff/student exchanges as well as joint collaborative research endeavours.

On the 27th of November, 2017 the Provost will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to honour the invitation of the President of Morgan State University who has graciously invited him alongside 12 other Nigerian Vice-Chancellors to grace the commemoration of the 150 year founder's day anniversary and the convocation ceremony of Morgan State University.

On the 28th of November, 2017, he will be signing another MoU between ACE and Morgan State University. He is expected back to the campus on 4th December, 2017. The Deputy Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde will continue to oversee the affairs of the College until the return of the Provost.
