ACE rotary club gets new president, raises funds for physically challenged

The Ondo Rotary Club District 9125 Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo chapter has performed the investiture of Mr. Anthony Olatunde Ojeyinka as the new president of the association.

 

Ojeyinka, who is the 5th President of the Club, was installed recently at a ceremony held at the main campus of the institution in Ondo city  by the Governor-General in charge of district 9125 of the association, Rotarian Mbanefo Nnoka, who was rere scented by his Assistant Bosede Olanusi.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, installation committee, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, described the ceremony as a memorable one. He also disclosed that the installation of new president as another landmark achievement of the association, since 2013 it began humanitarian services in the area.

Adenegan , who is also a member of the ACE club and doubles as the  club ICT Directorand Executive secretary, used the occasion to enumerate some of the projects executed by his association, since it began operation in the area.

He listed the projects to include, selfless and humanitarian services to the college community such as environmental sanitation, tree planting, donations of textbooks to the College, financial assistance to physically challenged students, sinking of borehole at the Adeyemi public primary school located within the campus, presentation of relief materials to inmates at the medium size prison located at Segede area in the community, as well as donations to the old peoples home among others.

He  solicited for more supports from  public spirited  persons, religious bodies as well as Non-Governmental organisations  in order to assist the association in fulfilling some of its obligations which he said are targeted towards improving the lots of the less privileged in the society.

In his acceptance speech shortly after he was  installed as the president, Ojeyinka appreciated members of the association over what he described as the confident repose in him, he however solicited for their support and cooperation,  saying the move would not only enable him  fulfill his vision before the end of his tenure but move the
association forward.

Ojeyinka  also thanked members of the association for the opportunity given to him to lead them, he promised to initiate more people oriented programmes as well execute more projects that would have direct impact on the lives of the people within the college community.

He equally thanked the Provost of the institution, Professor Olukoya Ogen, for what he described as his fatherly supports, the development which he said has enabled the organisation to play its charity roles in the college and the society at large.

The new rotary club president used the occasion to reiterate the continuous readiness of the association to continue to impact on the lives of the less privilege in the college.

He disclosed the plan of the association to embark on a thirty thousands dollar project in the institution, explained that the project if fully implemented, it would boost the academic stature of the institution and propel it further towards the attainment of the long awaited university status.

The climax of the programme held at the Centre for Educational Technology (CET) located within the campus of the institution in Ondo city was the decoration and handing over of the baton of the association to the new president by the Lieutenant Governor and the District Governor,  Rotarians Ayo Akingbule and Bose Olanusi, respectively.

Other activities also held  was the presentation of the four way test of entity of the association, rendition of the call to order of the rotary club, launch of appeal, donations,  delivery of lecture by Mr. Gbenga of the College Counselling for Human Resources and Development, musical interlude as well as delivery of goodwill messages.

Among the eminent personalities  that present at the occasion were, the Deputy Provost of the institution, Dr. Samuel Akintunde, members of the college community,  Head of Public Relation Unit of the college, Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi, members of the association from within and outside the state as well as friends and family of the new president among others.
