As 2017 winds up, the Provost of Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen has commissioned four in one projects embarked upon by the staff cooperative multipurpose society. The cooperative pure water factory's commissioned projects are pet bottle blowing machine, full automated Bottled machine, six-cylinder bottle labeling machine and a new building housing the elegant and sophisticated machines.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Provost who was represented by Dr. Samuel Akintunde, the Deputy Provost, commended the society who, despite the economic recession, has been able to utilize members' contributions and proceeds from the pure water to expand and establish the water project and building.
Earlier in his welcome and opening speech, Mr. Samuel Omobolade the President of the society deeply appreciated the gesture of the College management and the members of the society for their support and immeasurable contributions towards the progress of the society and the College as well.
Omobolade stated in his words, "in respect to the directive of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and NAFDAC, and the approval of the congress, put up a block of building at the cost of ₦3,172880:00 to house our new machines, purchase and install a full Automated bottled machine for #9,850,000, in line with international best practices and new SON and NAFDAC rules that have since phased out manual machines. This is what we are commissioning today." He revealed that this machine is capable of producing over 300 packs per day.
In addition, he further stated that with the factory new machines now, the product is now more hygienic as no hand contact is made from bottle sorting to filling, capping and packaging and as such, it has saved the society a huge sum of money with the full installation and operation of the Pet Blowing machine to produce the bottles thus reducing the cost of buying bottles from far distance at a high price. Now, the factory can now supply other factories around too.
Furthermore, he revealed that six (6) bottle labeling cylinders were procured at a cost of #450,000:00 and now being used.
The pure water ventures committee, led by Mr. Clinton Adebiyi who was also the MC for the programme, was commended for the job well done.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include Mr. Akinade Awoyemi Acting Librarian, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede Acting Regisrar, Mr. Ganiyu Abdul Bursar, Dr. Kehinde Adenegan, the first pioneering chairman of the pure water factory, members of the cooperative society Mr Michael Fapohunda, Mr. Sunday, Mr. Omosowone, SUCOEN chairman, Mr Jimoh Liasu among others.
