The recent visit of the College Provost to the United States of America has started to yield results. It would be recalled that on the 24th of November 2017, our amiable Provost, Prof. Olukoya Ogen was appointed as a senior mentoring scholar and full Professor of Research by the Southern University, International Center for Information Technology and Development (ICITD), Baton Rouge, Lousiana, United States of America. As part of the MOU signed by the Provost, he is expected to take leadership positions in research activities at the University and be involved in mentoring of Ph.D students and lecturers.
In the light of this MOU, Prof. Victor Mbarika, the President Board of Trustees, ICT University (ICT-U) foundations, as well as the Executive Director of ICTID and Associate Professor Foluso E. Ayeni, a research scholar and doctoral candidate visited Adeyemi College of Education on the 12th of December, 2017 where he presented an e-library server to the College and said ICITD research team of Finland will send a representative to bring the e-library server to the College and also do the installation.
On Thursday 14th December, 2017, Mr. Michael, a system analyst/programmer flew into the Country from Finland. On Friday, he (Michael) came to complete the installation and training of MIS staff (Acting Director, Network Engineer and Programmer) on the use of the server and also returned to Finland through Tanzania on Saturday 16th December, 2017 as he was also bid to complete similar task in Tanzania.
The e-library server is now ready for use by the College community and can be accessed with this url: 188.8.131.52/lib/, once anyone is connected to college network (AFUED-WIFI). On an important note, the e-library has about five thousand books and articles that can assist both research students and lecturers. Apparently, this e-library will definitely make research work easier for all numerous users in the College.
