Workers in Registry department Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo have organised a thanksgiving service in honour of the outgoing Registrar of the institution, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye.
The thanksgiving service was held on Monday May 22, 2017 at the Olusegun Obasanjo auditorium in the College.
Aderinboye, whose 10-year tenure would end by June 10, 2017 joined the service of the College as its fourth Registrar, on June 11, 2007.
In his remark at the occasion, the Provost of the institution, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, expressed happiness to be at the ceremony. He congratulated members of the College community and the organizers of the event, for deeming it fit to honour the outgoing Registrar, Mr. Felix Aderinboye, for his contributions to the growth and development of the institution.
Harping on the need for people to exhibit good character and legacy worthy of emulation wherever they may find themselves, Prof. Ogen, said this was necessary, as “there is always reward for everything.”
He used the occasion to drop hint of plan by the College Management to organize elaborate send forth for the outgoing and reception for the incoming members of the College Government Council during their exit and inauguration respectively adding that Mr. Felix Aderinboye would also be celebrated during the period, as mark of appreciation for his valuable contributions to the advancement of the College.
The Provost later prayed for the outgoing Registrar and wished him well in his future endeavours.
In a sermon delivered at the thanksgiving service by a pastor-cum staff of the College, Mr. Paul Bolaji Adebayo, he stressed the need for people to give thanks to God at all times.
According to him, thanksgiving is very important in the sight of God, stating “that for anyone to enjoy the blessings of the Almighty father, there is need to express gratitude to the creator for His Mercy, Protection and Provision.”
Quoting several passages in the Bible to buttress his points in Psalm 91v1 and psalm 10v9, the preacher stressed the need for people to emulate the Lord Jesus Christ, who he said always give thanks to God after performing any miracle.
Speaking on the outgoing Registrar, Adebayo described him as a pacesetter, team leader and good manager of men and resources.
He also described him as an innovator and lover of God’s work noting that the outgoing College Registrar would be remembered for the introduction of Registry prayer meeting, Registry Retreat and lots of human development initiatives, that look place in the College during his tenure.
He saluted his courage, doggedness and managerial ability in the face of challenges, adding that virtues of hardwork and excellent inter-personal relationship exhibited by him had become a reference point making him the first occupier of the position of Registrar to be celebrated in the history of the College. While describing him as a covenant child, the preacher advised him to remain steadfast in the Lord. He also urged him to give pre-eminence to God in all his undertakings, by appreciating Him at all times.
Adebayo used the occasion to advise people to surrender their lives to Jesus. He also admonished them to run away from sin saying doing so would enable the covenant of God to come into fulfillment in their individual lives.
The preacher later prayed for the outgoing Registrar, his family and wished him well as he leaves the College for his former place of work, The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State.
The event which featured praise and worship, exhortation, presentation of goodwill messages and special songs rendered in Owo and Ondo dialect respectively climaxed with the presentation of gift item – a Scanfrost brand Air Conditioner, 5.5 Horse Power wall split type (indoor and outdoor) to the outgoing Registrar, Mr. Felix Eniola Aderinboye on behalf of the Registry staff by the Acting Registrar of the College, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, Deputy Registrar, Pension and Staff Welfare, who was assisted by other Deputy Registrars in the College.
The programme held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium, where a gospel musician, Bose Akintade, entertained guests with song renditions was attended by all the Principal Officers of the institution including the Deputy Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde; Bursar, Mr. Ganiyu Abdul; Acting College Librarian, Mr. Akinade Awoyemi, Chairman of Staff Union Colleges of Education, ACE chapter, Comrade Liasu Jimoh staff of Registry department, friends of the celebrants among others.
